Mari Ohashi, Béjart Ballet Lausanne
Born in Kobe, Japan, Mari began dancing at an early age. In 2010, she joined the prestigious John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart, where she perfected her dance. The following year, she entered the École-Atelier Rudra Béjart, before joining the company in 2013.
With the company, Mari will perform major roles in Maurice Béjart’s repertoire, including “Le Presbytère n’a rien perdu de son charme, ni le jardin de son éclat”, “Gaîté parisienne”, “La IXe Symphonie”, “Béjart fête Maurice” (“Bhakti III”), “La Flûte enchantée”, “The Nutcracker” (Grand Pas de deux), “Brel and Barbara”, “7 Danses Grecques”, “Don Giovanni”, “Wien, Wien, nur du Allein”, “Symphony for a Single Man” and the famous “Bolero”.
At the same time, she takes part in creations by Gil Roman, artistic director of the BBL until 2024, such as “Kyôdaï”, “Tombées de la dernière pluie”, “Impromptu…”, “t’M et variations”, “Tous les hommes presque toujours s’imaginent”, and “Syncope”. She also collaborates with Julio Arozarena and Yuka Oishi.
In 2017, she took part in the creation of “Dixit”, a show written and directed by Marc Hollogne, combining projections and live performances, with choreography by Maurice Béjart and Gil Roman.
